A Panel on the Mental Health Crisis Facing our Nation’s Students
& the Solutions We Need to Support Them

Our Kids Are NOT Okay
The numbers that measure hospitalization and infection may be decreasing, but the level of pain, trauma and loss are sadly only beginning.
For adults, we hope that life experience has guided them through navigating changing terrain of life. But what of our young people? Young people who began 2019 with hopes of a bright future and ambitious dreams?

Emergency department visits for suspected suicide attempts increased nearly 51% among girls (ages 12-17) in early 2021 compared to the same period in 2019.

Participating on the panel are mental health practitioners and school personnel who will not only help shed light on the emerging mental wellness pandemic, but also provide programs and guidance for teens, parents and educators to address it, including HealthCorps resources.
Plus, we will hear directly from HealthCorps students and about the challenges they face as they struggle with returning to “normal.”
